Anna Tilmouth Napangardi was born in 1974 and is an Anmatyerre woman from Mulga Bore (Bushy Park) in the Utopia region of Central Australia. She is the daughter of June Bird and Johnny Tilmouth, and the granddaughter of renowned Utopia artist Ada Bird Petyarre (deceased).

Growing up within a strong artistic family, Anna was surrounded by the traditions and stories that have shaped her own painting practice. She accompanied her grandmother Ada on trips to Melbourne and developed confidence in her own style, experimenting with new designs while continuing her family's artistic legacy.

Anna paints important stories from her Country, including Atnyerlenge (Native Fuchsia), Awelye (Women's Ceremony and Body Paint Designs), Bush Foods, and the Mulga Story. Her artworks are created using acrylic on canvas and linen, and she also explores wood sculpture as part of her artistic practice.

In 2000, Anna spent time at Camel Camp in the Utopia region, an area with a strong history of wood carving. During this time, she created her own wood sculptures and expanded her skills across different mediums. Anna currently lives in Alice Springs with her mother, June, where she continues to paint and share the stories and traditions passed down through her family.
