Belinda Golder Kngwarreye's Artistic Beginnings
Born in Alice Springs in 1988, Belinda grew up at Boundary Bore and is the daughter of Margaret Golder and the late Sammy Petyarre. She began painting in her twenties under the guidance of her grandmother, Polly Ngale, and also learnt through her sister Janet Golder, who has been painting for Mbantua Gallery for many years. This strong family connection to art has provided an important foundation for Belinda's own artistic practice.

Pencil Yam Stories and Alhalkere Country
Belinda's artwork is closely connected to Alhalkere Country, with Atnwelarre (Pencil Yam) and Kame (Pencil Yam Seed) among her important subjects.
