About Audrey Morton Kngwarreye
Born in 1952, Audrey Morton Kngwarreye is the daughter of fellow Utopia artist, the late Mary Morton Kemarre. Her sisters Lucky, Sarah (dec) and Ruby Morton are also recognised Aboriginal artists, giving Audrey a strong artistic heritage within the Utopia region. Through her painting, she continues to share the cultural knowledge and stories connected to her Countries and family.

From Utopia Batik to Contemporary Aboriginal Painting
Audrey was involved in the early Utopia Women's Batik movement, participating in batik workshops alongside her mother and sisters between 1977 and 1987. This period played an important role in the development of the Utopia art movement, and Audrey's work later became part of the Holmes à Court Collection, which has been exhibited extensively throughout Australia and internationally.
