Tanya Price Nangala is an Anmatyerre artist connected to Woola Downs - Adelaide Bore Country. Tanya, together with her older sister Gracie, has been painting with Mbantua Gallery since 1998. Over many years, she has developed a distinctive style recognised for her incredibly fine and even dot work, carefully creating designs that reflect the stories, ceremonies and traditions of her Country.
Working in acrylic on canvas, linen and artefacts, Tanya paints Awelye (women's ceremony and body paint designs) and stories connected to gathering bush foods. Each artwork is inspired by the knowledge and cultural stories belonging to her father's Country.
Tanya lives in Alice Springs with her extended family. Her paintings continue to share the strength of women's traditions and the deep connection between Country, culture and family.
