Who is Aboriginal artist Anthony Bird?
Born in 1979, Anthony is the younger son of the late Paddy Bird and Eileen Bird, and the grandson of the late Ada Bird Petyarre, a renowned senior artist from Utopia. Anthony grew up within a strong artistic family, with the influence of his grandfather, father and brothers contributing to his own development as a painter. His work continues a family tradition of expressing cultural knowledge and connection to Country through Aboriginal art.

Anthony's stories have been passed down through his ancestors and are closely connected to his Country around Mulga Bore, where he lives. This Country has a strong cultural significance, with Lindsay Bird Mpetyane having been its chief custodian.
