Abie Loy Kemarre commenced painting around 1994 under the guidance of her grandmother, the renowned artist Kathleen Petyarre. Her artistic practice has developed into a distinctive style characterised by fine dotwork and detailed contemporary designs. Abie's work reflects her Anmatyerre cultural heritage and connection to Iylentye (Mosquito Bore) in the Utopia region, northeast of Alice Springs.
