Nakita started painting for Mbantua Gallery in June 2017. Her mother is Joycie Morton, her father is the late Eric Inkamala and she is the granddaughter of Betty Morton Pwerle (Joycie's mother), all of whom are artists. Nakita was born in Alice Springs and grew up at Hermannsburg, West of Alice Springs, and Ampilatwatja, North East of Utopia.
Nakita is married to Kevin Tilmouth who is the son of Thelma Dixon, an artist who has been painting for Mbantua since 1998. Nakita's work reflects the unique style of her large extended family and she currently lives in Ampilatwatja with her family.
Nakita paints Bush Medicine. There are different types of bush medicine in the Central Desert. In the 'olden days' the leaves and the seeds of this plant were gathered, ground and mixed with animal fat (today a commercial oil is used) and it is then used as an ointment or boiled in water for medicinal use.
