Rhonda began painting for Mbantua Gallery in August 2004. Her work focuses on Awelye designs, which depict traditional Women's Ceremonies, including body paint designs and the rituals of women dancing and singing for their country. Rhonda is part of a strong artistic family and grew up at Arawerre (Soapy Bore) in the Utopia Region, northeast of Alice Springs.
Her mother, Gypsy Jones, has been an artist for many years, and Rhonda recalls watching her paint as a child. Rhonda has four sisters - Shirley, Sandra, Jilly, and Loretta - and two brothers - Ronnie and Anthony. Sandra and Jilly, who are also artists, have encouraged their younger sister in her artistic endeavors.
Rhonda's painting represents design elements associated with her country, Arawerre (Soapy Bore).
