Ada Andy was born on Narwietooma Station and grew up at Haasts Bluff before moving to Papunya with her family. One of the first women to paint independently with Papunya Tula Artists, Ada Andy began painting in the early 1980's, creating works inspired by her cultural heritage and Country, including Yalka (Bush Onion) Dreaming, Warumpi Mother and Daughter Dreaming and Karrinyara (Mt Wedge) Tjukurrpa.
