Born in 1984, Alvira Bird Mpetyane lives between Alice Springs and Mulga Bore with her husband and children. She comes from a strong artistic family and is the daughter of artists Paddy Bird and Eileen Bird. Her grandmother was the late Ada Bird Petyarre, a highly respected senior artist from the Utopia region whose influential work forms an important part of Alvira's artistic heritage.
