Katie enjoyed painting over 10 years. Her main story was Atwakeye (Bush Orange). She used very fine dots to represent the flowers and seeds of the bush orange. Her younger sisters, Janie and Pauline Morgan are also painters. Katie is the winner of the 2012 City of Hobart Art Prize. She was the only Aboriginal artist at the time to have received this prize.

Description

Katie paints the Atwakeye, known as the bush orange. The small compact tree of the wild orange plant has creamy white flowers that open during the night and wither before the end of the next day. The fruit hang down on long stalks and usually ripen from October through January.
