Art is a powerful medium for sharing stories and surprising viewers. Through its vibrant colours, intricately dotted details, lively monochrome designs and Dreamtime storytelling inspirations; Aboriginal art serves to inspire, excite and intrigue us. Many of our artworks feature traditional symbols and natural elements such as fruit, leaves and animal tracks.
Aboriginal art has a long, rich history, which for too long has been shrouded in mystery. It is our aim at Mbantua Gallery to display and promote Aboriginal art and the amazing artists who are creating it. Our art gallery features hundreds of unique paintings by artists from across Central Australia. Whether you’d like to find an individual piece for yourself or as a gift; there are endless styles to choose from. We have traditional dot paintings, contemporary artworks and pieces to suit any budget – from $250 and under to $10,000 and above.
One of the ways our Aboriginal art gallery differs from others is our focus on the artists themselves and their role in creating the works you choose. We’ve built strong relationships with many artists in Utopia, Arnhem Land and other communities across Australia. Each artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a profile of the artist who created it. Meet our artists via their profiles to see which of their unique styles speaks to your heart.
We have two gallery locations in Alice Springs and Darwin where you can view some of our inspiring artworks first-hand. Mbantua Gallery has been in operation since 1992 and played a large role in the evolution and popularisation of Utopia Art. For a detailed history of our gallery, view the About Us page.
