Robert was the brother of Gabriella Wallace, a highly respected landscape artist. He worked in both watercolor and acrylic techniques, depicting the landscape of Santa Teresa, located southeast of Alice Springs.
In addition to his landscape work, Robert also painted decorative art on pre-made objects, such as boomerangs, utilising the distinctive style recognised from Santa Teresa's artists at Keringke Arts.
This landscape by Robert reflects the colour and formation of the many ranges, hills, gorges and flora that are found in his country, Santa Teresa, West of Alice Springs in Central Australia. This country truly has the blue and purple colours of the ranges in the distance, the rich colour in the sand and an amazing contrast when the plentiful flora is in bloom.
