This is a boomerang made from hardwood sometime during the 1970's. It is from the Western Desert area of Central Australia. There is strong and distinct fluting in the wood and an adze has been used to make this boomerng. It has been fire hardened and had red ochre rubbed onto it. It has also been painted for ceremony.
