Artwork Story
Gary paints the story of the seed of the Mulga Tree, called Ntang Artety. He also depicts Utnea (carpet snake) slowly making his way through the country, as shown by the wavy lines, and Little Wallaby from his country, Ilkawerne (El-go-an-na), represented by the '7' shaped symbols, reflecting the tracks that it leaves in the ground.
Ntang Artety is a very important story for Gary that belongs to his country. Ntang means seed in Gary's language, and Artety is the word for Mulga Tree. The mulga seeds are an important plant food throughout Central Australia, usually available to collect for several months of the year.
