Natasha began painting in 2017. Her uncle, Dinny Kunoth, is a prominent male artist and she learned to paint by observing Josie Kunoth (Dinny's wife) and other female artists in Utopia.
Natasha is passionate about painting and is actively developing her own style. She employs intricate dot work to create linear patterns that depict her country and associated stories.
Natasha paints the conkerberry. In Anmatyerre the conkerberry is called Anwekety. This fruit looks very similar to a plum and is often referred to in English by Natasha as a 'bush plum'. In the Dreamtime, winds blew from all directions, carrying the Anwekety seed over Natasha's ancestors' land. The first Anwekety of the Dreamings then grew, bore fruit and dropped more seeds. Many winds blew the seeds all over the Dreaming lands.
