My Grandmother's Country, Awelye (Women's Ceremony) for Anemangkerr (Bush Melon)

Teresa, a daughter of Barbara Weir (dec), was born in Darwin but spent time in Utopia with her mother. She began painting in 1990 and her detailed works reflect an influence from Barbara's 'My Mother's Country' series.

Over the past decade, Teresa has painted for various galleries in her area, including Framed Gallery in Darwin, Fremantle Gallery and Pearl Art Gallery in Broome as well as for Mbantua Gallery.

Teresa exhibited with Barbara in Sydney in 2001, and one of her earlier works was sold through Sotheby's Auction in May 2000. Her artwork also features in the pavement design of the Red Centre Garden, which opened in Canberra's Botanic Garden in October 2013.
