This is a Western Desert woomera from an area in Central Australia, north west of Alice Springs. It was made sometime in the 1960's. The peg has been tied on with kangaroo tendon and the handle has been covered in spinifex resin. It appears that ochre and spinifex resin has been smeared across the woomera. There is also scratch marks that indicate it has been carved with an adze.
