Joanne has painted spinifex that she can find in her country, Ahalpere in the Utopia region. Spinifex, or aptly named the porcupine grass, is a sharp pointed grass that is abundant in central Australia.
Star shaped designs (white dots) represent this pointed grass. Dot work in the background represents the seeds of spinifex. Turkeys eat the seeds.
