Nikita began painting for Mbantua Gallery in June 2017. Born in Alice Springs in 2000, she grew up in Hermannsburg and Ampilatwatja. Her parents, Joycie Morton and Eric Inkamala, are both artists. Nikita is married to a son of Thelma Dixon, who has been painting for Mbantua since 1998. Nikita's work reflects the distinctive style of her large extended family.
Nikita paints Bush Medicine. There are different types of bush medicine in the Central Desert. In the 'olden days' the leaves and the seeds of this plant were gathered, ground and mixed with animal fat (today a commercial oil is used) and it is then used as an ointment or boiled in water for medicinal use.
