The landscape represented tends towards east of Alice Springs, often located near Ross River. His art is a form of relaxation from his job as a stockman, in the early years, and more currently as a Stock Manager on an Aboriginal owned Cattle Station east of Alice Springs. Dennis has a natural ability in regards to the arts. He is renowned for landscape paintings but has also painted delicate landscapes onto river rocks. Dennis will experiment with different mediums carving using materials he finds out bush; an example was Kangaroo's cut out of poly pipe.

Description

This landscape by Dennis reflects the colour and formation of the many ranges, hills, gorges and flora that are found in his country, Unknown, West of Alice Springs in Central Australia. This country truly has the blue and purple colours of the ranges in the distance, the rich colour in the sand and an amazing contrast when the plentiful flora is in bloom.
