Description

The intricate patterns of dot work in Abie's painting represents some of the elements associated with the ancestral story surrounding the Bush Hen, a small bird that is also referred to as a 'little turkey.'

The pattern represents an aerial view of Iylenty, the traditional country for the bush hen story. It shows sacred sites, traveling and story lines. Abie also explains that specific sections in her painting are areas of seed that the little hen likes to eat and the paths it creates when searching through the countryside for food and water.
