Mary Rumble has been painting for Mbantua Gallery since October 2002. She has two children, Dorothy and Albert Kngwarreye, to Kenny Petyarre. Mary has both a sister, Katie Rumble, and a cousin, Dorothy Kunoth, who are also artists.
Initially Mary worked in the medium of batik along with over eighty other women from the Utopia Region in Central Australia. Her work in batik is featured in 'Utopia A Picture Story'. Mary gets all her Dreaming stories from her father's country, Atarrkerte.
