Although Cindy is a self taught artist she comes from a strong family tradition of Eastern Arrernte painters - Kathleen and Gabrielle Wallace.

Cindy has been painting since 1997. Her family country is around Bushy Park, north east of Alice Springs. Her Yam Dreaming links through to the country of Ada Bird Petyarre. Kenny Tilmouth Panangka, Cindy's grandfather, has given her the rights to paint Yam Dreaming.

Cindy lives with her husband and young children in Alice Springs, but travels to the Utopia region regularly to visit her husband's family.
